Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is fascial training? Is it useful for any sport?

Fascia is the tissue that connects muscles, joints, organs together from head to toe. It aids in sensory communication and the transfer of tension and load throughout the body. Movement Code fascial training has been designed with the goal of coordinating and strengthening patterns of movement along fascial lines that are foundational for optimal athletic performance.

The principles of Movement Code are designed to train our athletes move powerfully and efficiently so that their bodies are ready for any sport.

  • What programs do you offer?

Movement Code currently offers 3 separate programs:

Lower Extremity - Power from the ground up (foot to shoulder connectivity)

Upper Extremity - Strength from stability (hip to hand connectivity)

Bounce Code Jump Training - Fascia driven explosiveness training designed by Elite Jumper, Riley Smith

  • How long does a training session take?

The basic Movement Code programs, Lower & Upper Extremity, are designed to supplement your normal training program. Once the movements have been learned, the typical session takes 20 minutes and can be easily added to other training regimens.

  • What kind of equipment do I need?

Lower Extremity Levels 1 & 2 are designed to be performed without any equipment. As you progress to Level 3 & 4, you will have the option to add load (weights, bands, etc.)

Slant boards and Bosu balls are awesome tools, but these typically do not show up on the field of play. The first goal of athleticism is to master your own body. The leverage challenges in the first 3 levels of Lower Extremity can be re-created with simple household items (chair, bench, step, curb, etc.)

Grip strength is a major focus of the Upper Extremity program, so an overhead pullup bar or hanging surface is required. Loaded exercises are introduced in Level 2. Standard dumbbells are all that is required.

  • What are common conditions that Movement Code can help?

Movement Code training is not specifically designed to treat specific health conditions and should not replace treatment with an in-person doctor/therapist, furthermore every training program requires the assumption of some level of risk. However, optimizing fascial loading patterns can be beneficial for a variety of conditions.

Lower Extremity has already helped athletes that have been dealing with plantar fasciitis, patellar tendinitis, gluteal tendinopathy, and chronic ankle sprains.

Upper Extremity can be beneficial for shoulder impingement, elbow tendonitis, scapular winging and other issues associated with instability.

The body makes no specific distinction between training and rehabilitation. Addressing loading dysfunction and poor mechanics provides overlapping value regardless of the performance level.

  • How is the program distributed?

Currently, we use TrueCoach to host our training programs. Once subscribed, Movement Code members will set up accounts for TrueCoach and Discord to gain access to the training program and the rest of the MC community.

Each exercise has a demonstration video that is available directly from the program schedule, so users do not have to go back and forth between the schedule and the video library.

  • Who is involved in the Movement Code community?

Movement Code has clients ranging from professional athletes to youth coaches to weekend warriors. All subscribers have access to the Movement Code community through Discord. In addition to the program, the doctors are available for communication to discuss questions and evaluate form.

  • Can I sign up for just one month? What is your cancellation policy?

Yes. When you purchase your first month, you will have access to the program for 30 days. If you cancel prior to 30 days, then you will be cancelling your access.

We do not currently offer a free trial period.
