What is Fascial Training?

Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds the organs and muscles of the body. It reduces friction, stabilizes structure, communicates tension, and releases energy. Fascia is molded by the load that we place on our bodies. It responds to the demands that we give it. The best athletes are versatile and resilient movers. Their bodies rapidly adapt to new challenges and obstacles. They solve problems quickly. They find stability in unstable situations. They absorb and redistribute force with power and connectivity. The best athletes have well-trained fascia.

Picture your body like a car. Your muscles are the engine and your fascia is the suspension. If you continually beef up your engine (your muscles), but neglect to tune up your suspension (your tendons and your fascia), it is only a matter of time before your car breaks down! Fascial training helps fine tune your body’s suspension system to minimize injury and maximize athletic performance.

Typical exercise programs focus on training individual muscles. One day is “Back Day,” another is “Chest Day,” and you better not skip “Leg Day!” This is bodybuilding. It will build muscular size and strength, but sport requires full-body connection. Sport requires rapid absorption and quick redistribution of force across a variety of vectors. It requires the power of a united fascial system. Training individual muscles is not useful in the ring or on the court, unless you can integrate that strength into the rest of your body. Movement Code’s Fascial Training works to develop this connectivity. Instead of isolating specific muscles, we train our athletes to plug into the full kinetic power of their fascial connections. We identify weak or restricted areas, restore their functional capacity and reconnect them to athletic movements.

Movement Code is not looking to replace the training that you’re already doing. Your body is already being molded by the work you are putting in. We’re going to fill in the gaps. You’re building your engine. Movement Code optimizes your suspension. We’re the bridge from the weight room to the track, and the track to the field. We are the fascia of your training program, built to complement and connect.

With just 20 minutes of fascial training a day, you can develop better connectivity and more resilience. You’ll increase your mobility and decrease your injury risk. A healthy system is connected, and a connected system is powerful.

Ignite your training with Movement Code.
